Robots are back inside Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant

Robonable just uploaded a video showing the Japanese robot Quince nr 2 operating inside the radiation-contaminated Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant.  Three months after an older version got stuck inside the No. 2 reactor building two new robots have been developed by Future Robotics Technology Center at Chiba Institute of Technology. The new robots No. 2 and No. 3 are equipped with cameras, thermometers and hygrometers. At the request of Tokyo Electric Power Co., robot No.2 was also outfitted with a dust sampler to collect radioactive dust or ultrafine particles to ensure that workers at the plant are not overexposed. Robot No. 3 has also a 3-D scanner.
