Robot Arm wins First Prize in Taiwanese Robot Competition

A research team led by Prof. Tzuu-Hseng S. Li of Department of Electrical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) was awarded the first prize and NT$400,000 in the 2010 National Robot Competition, hosted by HIWIN Technologies Corporation and Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, with the invention of sophisticated intelligent robot arms.
The 2010 National Robot Competition includes categories of dancing, lifting, brushing and categorizing, emphasizing the flexibility, stability and lifting ability of the robot arms.
The 2010 National Robot Competition was organized by Robotics Association Taiwan and co-organized by Precision Machinery Research Development Center, integrates the three major themes of intelligent robots, intelligent machinery arms and security robots, aiming to stimulate creativities, promote industry-academia cooperation, cultivate outstanding talents and encourage the development of Taiwan’s robot industry.
